Sophie Maydon

Founder and Director

Sophie is the Founder and Director of PXL Talent. Her wealth of global leadership experience hiring for the Visual Effects, Animation and Creative Industries stem from positions as an agency head, and in-house roles, most notably at Double Negative, London. As Global Head of Talent Acquisition, at DNEG, Sophie grew the business from 300 to the size it is today. She also held the positions of Global Head of Human Resources and Global Head of PR and Communications for a period within the business. It was here she became fascinated with the industry: its approach to people, the merging of creative and technical minds and what this meant for the way businesses were built. Sensing there was a gap in the market for a recruitment agency that really understood the workings of VFX, Animation and creative industries, Sophie created PXL Talent. Sophie works from Somerset, England.

Paul Wilkes

Talent Consultant

Paul studied Computer Aided Design at Bournemouth University, where he developed a passion for the people side of the creative industries. Starting in Games Industry recruitment, he expanded to roles in VFX, Animation, Motion Design, and Visualisation. With 20+ years’ experience and a vast network, Paul’s achievements include growing a recruitment business at Escape Studios and leading global hiring for MPC and The Mill’s Advertising VFX and Design studios. Now based in Lisbon, Paul brings a wealth of expertise to creative recruitment.

Ros Webb

Talent Consultant

Ros began her career in engineering recruitment, having been drawn to the skills required to fill highly technical positions. Her passion for technical recruitment combined with her love of travel led her to live in three of the world’s major Visual Effects hubs (Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom) providing Ros with an opportunity to apply her knowledge to hiring niche roles for the Games, Visual Effects and Animation industries. Armed with a uniquely global perspective of the hiring market for the creative industries, Ros has worked in-house for Industrial Light and Magic, Motion Picture Company and Animal Logic, where she managed the recruitment team. Ros works from Stirling, Scotland.

Marcus Wells

Talent Consultant

Backed by a strong understanding of the creative and collaborative effort required to create brilliant work, Marcus works closely with candidates and clients alike. He supports and mentors industry professionals, helping secure new opportunities and drive change. Skilled in reducing resume and profile clutter, Marcus is able to quickly articulate each candidate’s message, defining strengths to realise career goals.

After working across Production at Cinesite, London, Marcus completed his Masters of Visual Effects at the Australian Film Television & Radio School. He has nurtured deep connections with a broad range of global industry professionals. As a member of the Visual Effects Society (VES), Marcus is committed to improving the strength of diversity in the industry. Marcus works from the Adelaide Hills, South Australia and only sometimes sleeps!
